Cancer Council Announces Girls Night In 2010
Celebrity Ambassadors

Cancer Council is thrilled to announce three celebrity ambassadors who are lending their support to Girls
Night In 2010: Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley, comedian Fiona O’Loughlin and award-winning hairdresser to
the stars, Brad Ngata.

This October, Faustina, Fiona and Brad will be joining women across the country, to share a fun night in with
their girlfriends to celebrate the support of the sisterhood and raise much needed funds for women’s cancer,
as a host or a guest of a Girls Night In event.

Girls Night In events raise money to fund new innovations in women’s cancer research and support services.
This year more than 200,000 Australian women will get together at events to fight against women’s cancers
and aim raise over $6 million, so that Cancer Council can reduce the statistic that 1 in 3 women will be
diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

Anchor ambassador Faustina Agolley is best known as ‘Fuzzy’, the host of Network Ten’s Video Hits.
“Cancer has touched my life through my mother who has been a nurse in Oncology for 15 years. She is a
professional and always tried to keep her home and work life separate, but she is also a human being, her
experience did affect her personally, which was upsetting. That combined with Cancer effecting the lives
of family, friends and colleagues all around me over the years, the battles that I would hear and see, I've
experienced many sides, and its been very emotional" recalls Faustina. “When I was asked to anchor the
Girls Night In ambassador programme, I jumped at the chance to be a part of it. The inspiring thing about
Girls Night In is getting everyone together for some fun while still raising money for a great cause”

Joining Faustina is Fiona O’Loughlin, the funniest working mother in Australia today who is also a wellknown
face to audiences from her regular appearances on Good News Week.

“My life has been touched by the tragedy of Cancer, so I’m proud and very happy to be involved in this
campaign”, says Fiona. “After all, what more could a girl want than a good night in with her friends? And it
helps a great cause – so just get out and get your mates in for a night!”

Rounding out our trio of ambassadors is our first male ambassador for 2010, Brad Ngata, Australia’s hottest
hairdresser to the stars and 3 time winner of Australian Hair Stylist Of The Year. Brad is also a regular on
Australia’s Next Top Model. Brad will be on hand to dish out advice on the best hair and makeup tips for
your Girls Night In.

Further celebrity ambassadors for Girls Night In will be announced over the coming weeks.

So, this October join the IN crowd and attend a Girls Night In fundraising event for Cancer Council in a real
show of support for the 45,000 Australian women diagnosed with cancer this year.^

A night with the girls can come in many forms from dinner parties; chick flick nights; board games; clothes
swaps, and pamper nights, but no matter what the activity the main content of the night will be a great deal of
talking, laughter and support. Girls Night In could be deemed therapeutic!

“Girls Night In is all about going beyond buying pink products, it’s about sharing knowledge, information, and
supporting each other, all the things women do best, while helping fund cancer support services and
research for women’s cancers,” said Gillian Batt, Director of Cancer Information and Support Services at
Cancer Council NSW.
